Yesterday evening the first “Porto San Giorgio Street Food Festival” took place in my city. Trucks and gazebos were placed in the main boulevad, the one we call “viale della Stazione” (its official name is “viale Buozzi). 23 different kind of food, beer and wine and about 30 (and more) tables and benches and a lot of people walking, smiling and tasting.
Only italian food, and also local tipicalities for a big fest lasting until next Sunday’s midnight.
It’s getting lunch time while I am working now and it could be the right time for a cocktail. If people choose to have aperitif time, in Porto San Giorgio’s cafes you can find also “Olive all’Ascolana”, green olives fulfilled with meat. It is a typical product of Ascoli Piceno, a city 60 km far from Porto San Giorgio, but we also eat on the coast!
The festival offers two truck selling the people “Olive all’Ascolana”: MrZocca, the one having the olive-shaped truck
and De Carlonis Campofilone, also selling tyipical Campofilone egg pasta.
Together to the olives, which are fried, sometimes we also eat fried cream and mozzarellas:
Wanna have a beer? No problem, American and italian ones are also present in “viale della Stazione”.
